  • Downloading updates stuck at 10%

    Hello,

I decided to install the available updates to our uberSVN server but the 'download updates' process got stuck at 10% on the second file it was downloading. It has been stuck for a while so I'm sure something timed out or the connection got reset in the middle of the download process.

    Code:
Name	Description	Categories	Current Version	Available Version	Last Modified	Last Update Status	Status
    subversion17	Subversion 1.7 Binaries	Core	1.7.8-1	1.7.9-3	2013-04-22	10%	Downloading...
    subversion16	Subversion 1.6 Binaries	Core	1.6.20-1	1.6.21-3	2013-04-22	Success	Ready for update
Is there a way (manual or otherwise) to clear the status or restart the download to be able to complete the process and install the updates?

    Thanks!

I was able to fix the problem but perhaps there's a better way. I'll describe the process for those running into the same issue. This is on a CENTOS installation.

    Here's the process I followed:

    Code:
    sudo su - ubersvn
    cd /opt/ubersvn/downloads
    mv uberSVN-subversion17-lin-64-1.7.9-3.tar.bz2 uberSVN-subversion17-lin-64-1.7.9-3.tar.bz2.bad
    wget http://update.ec.us.ubersvn.com/uberSVN-subversion17-lin-64-1.7.9-3.tar.bz2
Then I restarted the uberSVN server from the web interface and went into the updates tab, the stuck update status was listed as FAILED but it was ready to install since I provided the correct update file in the correct folder. I proceeded to install the updates and it worked correctly.

An alternative that you can try if you get stuck in the same way is to just restart the uberSVN server and see if that changes the status from 'Downloading' to 'Failed'. If the status changes maybe you'll get the choice to download again or you can provide the update manually as shown above but you need to lookup the correct file and download location from the ubersvn log.

To locate the server and files find something like this in the ubersvn log:

    Code:
    [17 Apr 2013 20:09:31] INFO (?:?) - Getting updates from: https://update.ubersvn.com/
    [17 Apr 2013 20:09:40] INFO (?:?) - Update mirror is: update.ec.us.ubersvn.com
    [17 Apr 2013 20:09:40] INFO (?:?) - Found 7 available updates
    [17 Apr 2013 20:09:40] INFO (?:?) - Found 0 eligible updates
[18 Apr 2013 12:34:04] ERROR (?:?) - Could not send email: Exception reading response
[18 Apr 2013 16:15:01] ERROR (?:?) - Could not send email: Exception reading response
[18 Apr 2013 16:15:27] ERROR (?:?) - Could not send email: Exception reading response
    [22 Apr 2013 08:47:18] INFO (?:?) - Getting banner advert
    [22 Apr 2013 08:47:18] INFO (?:?) - Downloading images for page.
    [22 Apr 2013 08:47:20] INFO (?:?) - Downloading page from the UMP
    [22 Apr 2013 08:48:37] INFO (?:?) - Downloading update file: uberSVN-subversion17-lin-64-1.7.9-3.tar.bz2
    [22 Apr 2013 08:48:37] INFO (?:?) - Downloading update file: uberSVN-subversion16-lin-64-1.6.21-3.tar.bz2
In my case the bold font parts above is the download that got stuck.

Once you figure out the correct download URL for wget you can also download it in your PC and use the 'Upload Offline Update' button from the updates tab.
