  • Problem creating repositories when using LDAP auth

    Hi

I'm totally newbie to uberSVN and having a issue
    Running 12-10-1766 svn - 1.7 on windows server 2003

As long as I do a fresh install and creating repositories everything work fine
When I add ldap authentication to our AD I can't create repositories anymore?

    What do I do wrong?
I'm not getting any error creating the repository but can't access it neither from web or client

I have tried several fresh install now and tried both on 2008 and 2003 servers (not Linux yet )

Have search the net on this topic but couldn't find any posts similar to this, so either i'm doing something very wrong, or this is not commonly used!

So if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be very appreciated.
    Best regards
    Thorbjorn Linder

Hi and thanks for a quick response
I never come to the authentication site in the "Repositories" "Browse" repository

And when I tried to access a repo from client, it was not accessible

All of a sudden everything works, I don't know why??
I have one repository with LDAP auth and 3 others with standard user auth
All I have changed was the ldap attributes on this one repo...

But I don't know if it authenticate correctly from LDAP yet, have to do some more testing (tomorrow)
I'l post any status here on this subject

      /T

          Hi

          I can't reproduce my previous error's (Probably depending on me ;-( )

Second, I'm not that good on ldap, so using repositories with ldap and build the correct search filter and connection string to search in AD if a user is a member of a specific group. is a big no no for me.
          Have tried this:

Same ldap connection as used for user auth. ( ldap://IP:389/ou=OUWithAllUsers,dc=domain,dc=local?sAMAccountNam e )

          Auth Name : Subversion Repository
          YES
          AuthLDAPGroupAttribute: (&(sAMAccountName=%USERNAME%)(memberof=CN=uberSV N, OU=MyOUWithAllGroups,DC=mydomain,DC=LOCAL))
          NO
          Require: valid-user

So if some one know how to think or do this, please let me know

I found an error or bug, when I login as a AD user with ldap auth. with username in AD=User1
If I login as user1 (not capital u in user) I can log in, but repository authentication fail.
Loging in as User1 it works.

Should I report this some where?

          BR

            Hi again

            Som more input:

After testing ldap authentication on repositories, if a member is directly from ldap user list then it both works to login on portal and access repositories
If you make a team with users from ldap and give the team rights on a repository, then they can't access repositories without ldap authentication

In this case you don't have to configure ldap settings parameters at all, they work as the are.

So my question above is note really a big issue any more

            BR

Glad everything is working nicely for you now.

Is that not how you'd expect it to work?

                Hi Mand,

Yes I expected it to just work, but it did not, so then I assumed it was me that had configure it wrong

What about by my earlier post:
