What SVN server is this? Apache? VisualSVN? Is this really Subversion 1.2? That's truly ancient. Please help us understand why you're using that old a version? Cheers.

yes, its ancient. but it was working and now it does not. Just asking for help to fix it.

as to the old version that we are using, we had an employee set it up and its been working ever since. management sees no reason to change it.

Looks like CollabNet Subversion Edge 1.2.1 (http://yum.collab.net/index.jsp?topic=/csvn/releasenotes/csvnedge121.html). So it's running Apache. I don't know where CollabNet is placing their specific version of Apache, but wherever it is you need to hunt down the Apache log files and see what they say. More likely than not you're going to find simply some reference to a 500 error. Share the log file contents (elide or replace sensitive internal stuff but leave the "form" intact) and we'll see what it says.

You should also check disk space. And a reboot might fix things - you never know.

Ah, Windows. Which server version of Windows are you running? Did you install a service-pack (or other security patch) just before it stopped working?

Could you look to see if there's an "access_log" file? (On windows it might be "access.log" or something like that.) Might find a clue in there.

Otherwise you might need to start looking into Windows specific application logging and see if there's anything in that which might help you understand the failure.

I'll be honest: Windows is not my strong area...

nothing in any of the logs. turns out, the problem was with the ldap password, either the system admin changed or it was corrupted.

              thanks for all your help.l
