  • Subversion command line client 64bit version for Windows?

    Hello there,

Is there any plans to release Subversion command line client 1.8.x 64bit for Windows? All the available Windows versions are 32bit from WanDisco.

I am looking specifically for native JavaHL 64bit support that i can use with my Atlassian Fisheye.
    https://confluence.atlassian.com/dis...oryourplatform

CollabNet has 64bit versions of command line clients, but does not have very good native JavaHL support. These are the files I need:
    1. svn-javahl.jar
    2. libsvnjavahl-1.dll

However the DLL file is 32bit. How can i get 64bit version of the DLL files? If source codes are available, are there any guides i can use to compile it on my own?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

None that I'm aware of I'm afraid - we base our versions on the apache ones and I can't see any plans on their site for a 64 bit version. It may be possible to compile it from source though, but I'm not sure how that'd work with JavaHL.

    Good luck, either way

Thanks for the reply. I got it to work with CollabNet's x64 svn client distribution. Not sure where they get their x64 source codes from, but i am glad it worked.

Yes, I have exactly the same need; please could you consider releasing x64 clients? As well as CollabNet, SlikSVN also includes an x64 install with JavaHL native libraries. However, both CollabNet and SlikSVN don't include the 'matching' svn-javahl.jar (which I had to build from Apache Subversion source). WANDisco does for its x32 release: if you released an x64 client I suspect you'd get some more takers precisely because of this.

Hi @monsieurrigsby, you can use the version released from http://sourceforge.net/projects/win3....11_javahl.zip which is platform indenpendent.

You do not need to compile it yourself.

OK, thanks for the pointer. That seems a pretty 'personal' project though; I'd prefer to trust a build from source, especially since there are no dependencies so it's very straightforward. (In fact, that's another good reason why it would be good to have a WANDisco x64 release: because they're an established specialist organisation, and so you'd tend to trust them to re-package others' code.)
