Thread: Unsupported record version

    Unsupported record version

With v7.5.4 on Win7 64 bit I am receiving a lot "Unsupported record version xx-yy" (xx and yy are numbers) errors when I try to update a working copy. What does that mean?

Something is really badly broken - either on my or SmartSVN side. I can't update many of the working copies that use to work just fine before.

If I use svn from the command line it just works. How can I switch back to an older version? I didn't find a link to older versions of SmartSVN.

Some additional info (maybe its related): I am also getting a lot "Processing REPORT request response failed" errors and it takes REALLY long until an update starts/cancels.

ATM SmartSVN is completely unusable to me.

...and another one: "Bad record MAC RECORD" request failed.
...and another one: "Bad InputRecord size, count = xxxx, buf.length= yyyyy. Report request failed."

Whatever these erorrs mean - they are not very descriptive.
Seems I see all possible errors during work-flow. Really strange.

    Hey there,

If you run 'Validate Working Copy' from the modify menu does that sort it? Failing that we'd need a log file to look into it further.

Thanks for the suggestion, but no, not really. I forgot to add that I get these errors not all the time. I usually "fix" the working copy, try an update again and some times it works. The bad thing is: It fails roughly 5 out of 6 times. Its also not related to a single working copy (I manage roughly 50 working copies of different repos) - it seems more random. Therefore I guess its not related to a broken working copy.

But meanwhile I tried on another PC where the same version seems to work until now. Maybe its related to my node - but I cannot figure out why. The only updates I installed were Windows system updates besides the SmartSVN update. I checked the update log, but non of these MS updates is related to networking (except IE updates). Any hints what could be another reason?

BTW: Just to mention that this is indeed not related to SmartSVN. It seems on one of my PC's I am having an issue with constantly broken "internet packages". While for downloads this doesn't really matter the effects in SmartSVN are really bad. To update a repo I need to go through roughly 5 error messages some of these corrupting the wroking copy so that I need to run "Fix" before the next trial.
So although that's not a SmartSVN issue, maybe someone with similar effects was able to track such issues down?
